Two Types of Tests

Our elementary students spent this morning taking the STAR math test to benchmark their beginning of the year knowledge and skill set. (They will take these tests at the end of each 9 weeks to show individual growth and give comparisons to class and national averages. These tests help teachers identify opportunities for students to stretch themselves while keeping any student from falling through the cracks.)
This afternoon, they did some all-hands-on-deck testing! Our students got the opportunity to strategize and build a strong spaghetti structure that could maintain the mass of a mighty marshmallow. It truly was a feat of elementary engineering! #STEM #testingisntalwaysbythebook#calledtobeaSAINT
